    The Ventana Wiki - 1985 to 2021

So jealous of these early Ventanas. I have a pair of early hardtail Marble Peaks. In rough shape. But still gems in my eyes. Did you ever finish this build?

Need Help IDing a early Klein Pinnacle/Rascal?

Re: I had the same thoughts last night. Pretty rad that red paint can fade to the sunburst look. No stamp with the rear axle width. Though it is 130. Be cool to figure out if there is any way to tell if it is a 88 or 89 Pinnacle. Have a pics of your Pinnacle?

Need Help IDing a early Klein Pinnacle/Rascal?

I'm starting to find a other 1988 Pinnacles that have the R in the serial number. So pretty sure now this is a Pinnacle. I think may be it had a custom paint job from Klein...

Need Help IDing a early Klein Pinnacle/Rascal?

Re: Need Help IDing a early Klein Rascal? I still think it is a Pinnacle likely a 88 or 89. But that serial number is weird.

Need Help IDing a early Klein Pinnacle/Rascal?

So I just scored a old Klein today. I thought from the pictures that is was just a faded 1989 Pinnacle. But now I have it home and am confused. It appears to have a faded classic sunburst paint job. It has chainstay brakes mounts. Original Spinner fork. But then the serial number is R716 Klein...

    1990 Cannondale SM700 cruiser project

Re: I think that would be too short. I haven't built up a threaded steerer bike in years but I think I would need 1.5-2 inches of steerer beyond the headtube length. Anyone on the forum please correct. I'm a little lost on threaded steerers.

    1990 Cannondale SM700 cruiser project

Re: Another reason I wanted this frame was because of the attached photo from the 1991 Cannondale catalog. I've always been a sucker for the old 1990s catalogs for many brands. At one point I had 20-30 Rockys.

I would be way into that fork. I wonder if the steerer is long enough? The headtube is 4.5 inches. I do have a nice 1-1/4th Pepperoni fork. I did find a nice wheelset today for this build.

    1990 Cannondale SM700 cruiser project

Recently I scored a severely worn SM700 in my size. Couldn't resist. Reminded me of the 90s when my main ride for many years was a 1990 SM2000. The frame is pretty solid though it is missing the fork. Need to sort that out. Also need to find a wheelset with a 130 rear. This project will take...
