No sorry they don't. There are some that do the reverse eg 1 1/8 frame to take 1" headset but not the way round you require unfortunately.

Cheers and yes it's difficult as my frame is very large with a long head tube. I have just purchased some headset adapter cups that will allow me to fit a more common 1 1/8" threadless headset so my options will improve I hope.

i am building up a proflex 857 but the 27.2 diameter seatpost that i have seems too tight yet fits perfectly well in my older preoflex 856 frame. is there any difference in the 857 as the catalogue lists it as having the same 27.2 diameter seat post size as the 856?

I ran 1 x drivetrains back in 94. Never liked front mechs. Yes I had terrible chain lines for the easy gears but living round Suffolk I mostly live in the top 3 or 4 gears.
