Sram cables are 1.1mm diameter compared to 1.2mm for Shimano. I always use Sram 1.1mm's in XO or XX.

I've been building this today for my son. Its a 1996 Peugeot 800 Control, alloy tubes and carbon fibre head and monostay seat tube lugs with a neat internal clamp for the seatpost. A nice mix of XTR 960 and XT 750/760, and a Ritchey theme. Just need to finish cabling and put a chain and pedals...
