After a few revisions... few months later

Got rid off the thumbies and the LX crankset for a cool 50 quid....90% of my original investment is back in my pocket. I'm thinking of remaking the semi-Titanium Raleigh frame into a single speed machine. Sorry if I had disappointed the collectors out there with my decision.
