    Re: We're a dumb lot here in the USA, couldn't figure out the metric system in the 70's, so we wen't back to what we knew ,sort of. Soda pop is still sold in 1 or 2 litre bottles but smaller sizes are still 12 or 16 ounces. Like I said were a dumb lot.

    Why is every part on every bike that I have owned over the last 40 years been measured in metric, seatpost diameter, stem length, frame size, crank length, wheel spacing 126-130,etc. but bearings are measured in inches, 1/4 inch 3/16 inch ,etc. I have Italian, Japanese, and American frames...

    Tension for installing gear cables?

    Joining a chain with Shimano chain link pin

    I love most Shimano stuff, I still use a 600 tricolor group from the 80's but I do not like the design of their chains. If , like me you like to remove your chain for cleaning you will need a new pin every time you take your chain off. I have switched to KMC brand chains, very reasonable price...

    List of period correct European rims for 1987-1989
