i got a 99 marin rocky ridge and stripped the laquer off it it took forever the extra strength nitromores didnt even peel or bubble at all just made the laquer a little softer it honestly took me about ten hours of solid scrapping to get the laquer off the frame

take the forks out and pad them up well then tape them one leg each side of the seatube with the axles taped to the rear fork and the stearer taped to the downtube it will be shorter and also much less likely to get damaged by ooops we dropped it on the froks and now theyre bent

its the fork crown race size thats different eg 26.4mm crown or 27 mm crown some better quality crown races have the size stamped underneath if you dont know the crown race is the very bottom part of the headset thats attached to the fork the small ring that you had to knock off the forks...

the only good thing about halfords is a guy i know bought a brand new zaskar race frame there years ago for quite alot of money and never ever built it up :oops: :oops: then sold it to me for 60 quid :D :D :D wahoo happy days
