Try Starchem paint remover - it does work - however I'd suggest having protective goggle, masks, gloves, overalls and working outside (applying it indoors is a definitely a no-no ) - as it's very hazardous - had to sign a disclaimer when I purchased it at a specialist paint shop in Brighton -...

On closer inspection - that isn't a rear U brake - so not the original Zaskar - shame about the fuzzy pics.

The welding is definitely pre-96. I'd go as far to say it's the original - if that's a U brake caliper at the rear.

Finally found it to be a 1999 Jamis Komodo on Bikepedia - same banana yellow colour scheme - although no more as it's currently in 2nd stage of levelling out ball burnishing before the final stage of polishing to a mirror shine - this frame is rather light - even with fitted the UN 72 bottom...

Built a similar looking bike currently for sale on Gumtree London - it was a labour of love - not to everyone's taste...

bike artwork Very original - lovely colour schemes. You ought to make some limited edition prints - especially the coloured ones - they'd be snapped up like hot cakes on this website, I'm sure!

Garage queens Well said my man - it's like I like worshiping idols or exercising my super ego by saying " this is how good I am at creating/restoring a bike" but can I reach a state of equivalence/bliss by riding the heck out of it? Don't think you can - too stuck on the material hoarding...

'93 Gt Zaskar wierd but nice - like Marmite! Check out my array of Zaskars ( 5 on show, 2 originals ( '92 ) being rebuilt ). Cool rear ano blue derailleur ( is that a Paul component? ).

BTOM So far -it's got to be Klienrenzo's purplish Klien - does look the bizniz - look out for my Rasta themed Klien Jamaica Gold when its completed next spring/summer. As for Yeti's - can't knock 'em till I ride em - although I much prefer bikes with classic and simple lines.
