Some progress at last. 6 months on from me getting the frame its had a coat of primer eventually. Spent another 2 hours stripping and rubbing down the paint beforehand. To say it was a ballache is an understatement.

Looks like there are no cable guides on the downtubes. If they’re on the headtube then its a Team Marin.

I feel your pain. Hammer the spindle out through the plastic non drive side. The plastic will give way and will come out with the spindle. You can look at the metal cup then and decide how to get it out. Ive had to carefully hacksaw through the metal cups on a few occasions. If you do use a...
