    What Campag chainset is this?

I thought I was sure this was late ‘80s Athena or Chorus (is there a way to tell them apart?) but Velobase says maximum chainring sizes are 53 outer and 44 inner - and this one has 56/46.

    Sprint rim brand

I’m trying to identify the rims on a pair of sprint wheels. This is the only branding I can see. Is it a maker’s name? It’s not one I can find.

What size frame shall I restore?

I feel a bit like Goldilocks here. I have one frame that seems too big and one that looks too small. I’d like to renovate one - but which? They’re bare frame sets (from different makers) one is 24 inch c to c seat tube, the other 22 inch. That’s 60cm against 56. I ride a modern 54cm bike. My...

For Sale Various sprint rim wheels for sale

A bit of a toe in the water exercise as I don’t know how much interest there is in sprints & tubs these days. All have been in dry storage since the owner’s death but are in various conditions. The best: Pair of Omas hub/Performance rim 28spoke wheels. Front is radially spoked, rear has tied...

A final try at identifying my mystery bike

Okay well one last shot at identifying my my mystery bike frame. I’ve got a bottom bracket number, a Campag marking on the fork drop outs, Tange bottom bracket stamp and I’ve pulled the forks and found no maker marks on it. No braze on fittings beyond brake cable guides on the top tube. I did...

For Sale Two late ‘80s top end sports bikes,

The late owner of these was a pretty handy time triallist back in the day. They have been left in his shed since he died about four years ago. Now his widow is moving and I’m disposing of them. They are both being sold ‘as seen’. They both need tidying but are far from basket cases. Seat posts...

Any interest in sprint wheels for tubs?

Is there any great interest these days in wheels with sprint rims for tubular tyres. I have a few with Campag hubs - if there’s no interest I guess I will break them for the hubs. Shame though.

    A mystery called Gerrard

Joining my little group of mystery bikes is this pretty little (21.5 in) Gerrard frame and forks which has Nervex lugs. This frame has plenty of numbers - the bottom bracket is stamped 919B and the NDS drop out has 1325. This would all be very helpful except I can find out little about Ted...

    What are these mystery bikes

I’ve got a couple of bikes here which are proving tough to identify - no obvious frame numbers, no decals. I’m hoping a few picture details may help. Notably the white one has unusual seat stay/seat post joints. The blue/white one is in Reynolds 708 tubing but seems pretty generic otherwise...
