A friend of mine just picked up this 1986 Ritchey Aspen and was wondering if anyone could help ID the one piece stem/bar combo? The stem is alum not steel and is not the original bullmoose style, obviously. Looks like the previous owner swapped it out along with the shifters (for XT thumbies)...

got a chance to grab a n 18" brodie climbmax from 1991. includes BB, front mech and the stem. not the gatorblades (too short of a steer tube :( ) and a set of M2's. cost to me $650 canadian, or about 325 quid. should i jump at this?

if you run a canti lever with a cable pull disc on front you have reduced braking in front. T/F a disc gives you greater stopping power than a canti setup. T/F so a canti rear/disc front with older canti levers should give me equal breaking front to rear T/F therefore Jonny doesn't go ass...
