Where to buy RAL paints and dealing with rust.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but people with older bikes are more likely to have needed paint, I suppose, so... I have a GT Tequesta which has been powder-coated RAL 2009 (orange). I cleaned it today and found that the bit that goes between the chain stays has rusted and the coating is...

    Rigid/Suspension axle-crown/travel correction exasperation.

I have a GT Tequesta which I think was made in 1998. It came in 2 versions. According to an advert from 1998 featuring exactly this bike, it came with either a "11.8 CrMo w/Bolegna Cut" or a "Rockshox Indy C", which I believe (based on a little Googling) had 60mm travel. What length (axle to...

Winther Dolphin child trailer - should I?

Hello road bike section. Normally I post in the mountain bike forums but this is more of a roady thing. We have a baby and want to transport it by bike as soon as possible, and I like the idea of a trailer as it seems safer than a seat. We've found a modified Dolphin - the seat has been...

Square Taper BB advice sought (and given).

Eyup. I need to replace the bottom bracket in my 1998ish GT Tequesta. I'm going to put an FC-M442 crankset on it (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=46021, bargain innit) and am not sure enough of how to interpret http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techd ... 657937.pdf to know what...

    Shorter steel frames?

Morning all. I have recently discovered just how much I like steel frames, after 10 years riding aluminium. I'm currently riding an 18 inch GT Tequesta with On-One rigid steel forks, but I'm finding it a bit long to reach to the handlebars - I ruptured a disc in my back a few years ago and...

    Rigid forks, wonky bosses...

Just bought these over here: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=245235 Would you be bothered by wonky brake bosses and try to return them (to Planet X, which is about 3 miles from where I live) or just bung brakes on them and compensate by adjusting the pads?

    Rhone valley riding

I'm going to a wedding at Lausanne in Switzerland in May with my girlfriend. We're planning to get a train to Lyon and cycle the remaining 100 miles or so up the Rhone valley. Has anyone ridden in that bit of the world? Any good routes? We'll be on mountain bikes but loaded up with camping...

Wanted - Hydraulic rim brake (rear or pair)

I'd be up for just a rear one, really, though may be interested in a pair. It's for an old GT that now has a front disc brake, but no disc mount on the frame so currently has a V-brake on the rear.
