I have an Hope XC hub from (I guess) around 2000 and looking at running a new, 10 speed Shimano 105 or Ultegra cassette. Will it work or are there compatability issues in terms of widths?

I've picked up an old frame and the rear hub spacing seems to be 125mm at the back instead of the usual 135mm. I can fit a standard hub in but it's obviously flexing it 5mm each side. Were some older Cannondales made this way? Can anyone offer any info? Cheers
