Morning all,
I'm looking for a quill stem with a 26.0mm clamp, preferably in a short/medium length. Doesn't need to be anything rare or fancy, but ideally reasonable condition.
Cheers,
Chris
Evening all,
I'm currently riding a Townsend road bike that's nothing exceptionally special, but it's done me well for a while. I've added aero levers and a brooks saddle but otherwise it's pretty much as it was when I bought it. I recently took it on the London-Brighton and other than being...
Morning all,
The front brake on my 3 speed has been completely trashed so I need a cheap and cheerful replacement! The current caliper is a Formos with around 60-80mm of reach, so ideally something like a Weinmann 810 or 730 would work. The pads are set at 65mm so it would need to be at least...
Earlier this year I picked up a 3-speed town bike in immaculate condition. It's not that old (1985 from the Sturmey Archer hub) and rides wonderfully. It's a lower end brand (Focus Cycles) and was ultimately replaced in the bike stable by an older english 3 speed.
Here's a poor quality...
My bike has a multicoloured band/tape on the seat tube, as do loads of other bikes I've seen on here and other forums - was this just a fad?
(Not my bike.... although wish it was) Example of double bands:
I'll be riding the palace to palace with family and friends this weekend, a couple of us on retro/vintage bikes.
It's the first time we've done it and wondered if anyone has experience of previous years? I gather the roads are open to cars for the entire route so it might be interesting...
Seems to be a cheap 70s/80s bike...
5 speed Sach Huret setup
ITM Stem and NOS ITM Bars (originals were bent by previous owner)
Rear hub is Pelissier, front is Union both with Rigida steel rims
I've just bought a new (old) bike and the rear tyre is rubbing on the frame. I've shoved the axle as fair back into the dropout as it will go, but I think the problem is a more modern 27 x 1 1/4 is much fatter than the bike was originally intended for.
I've successfully squeezed 700x25 tyres...
Hi All,
I'm after a cheap and cheerful road bike suitable for someone 6' (ish)
Happy for something that needs a bike of work, as long as its in rough working order.
I'm located near j13 of the m25 and happy to travel a bit to collect.
Regards,
Chris
