Found one of these on Gumtree a couple of weeks ago advertised as "needs a bit of work." A quick Google came up with an impressive spec list, which would make the 60 odd mile round trip worthwhile if it was still mostly all there.

Just bought a 1988 bike which I am stripping for a rebuild and it has one of these fitted. Its not a modern cartridge type "sealed" bb but its not (least I don't think it is ) a cup and cone either. Its got a screw in bearing on either side, both with lock rings. Anyone know anything about them...

Any thoughts on these? I've just bought one via an ad on my local gumtree for £100. Its a complete, rideable bike in unmollested condition. Very nice tangerine paintwork with a gold flake through it, only a little corrosion creeping under the paint on the underside of the downtube...
