what is the cleanest safest easiest way of removing anodising? i have a faded red hope headset that is missing a couple of parts, i figured the easiest way of making it all match is to take it back to silver and buy silver replacement parts. has anyone done this? how would i do it?

i have some inner cable end caps (will do brake or gear) and can supply them in packs of 10 for £1.70 posted pp gift or packs of 5 for £1 posted pp gift a nice finishing touch for your colour coordinated projects if this proves popular i may get other colours too. (red ones on my bike)
