Back to the 80's i shall go.

Spanking @Spanky22b !!! Nice mix of components there. Black Mountain LX group with Deore levers 😍😎. Are those 6 speed XT thumbies you have used? The SE pedals look great too without paying a small fortune for Suntour XCll’s Very iconic bike for UK MTBers BITD…

    Ridgeback 1980’s

Nice. I thought that was a Deore in the original pics. 🤔 So that’s quite low end beauty. Nice brakes and look like the grips are original? Looks to have a nice mix of components. Proper work horse of a bike. For that price it’s hard to ignore! 😍💪👌

    Moots YBB (steel)

Indeed you're right. Looked at the pictures on my PC rather than phone and can see it clearly. And it doesn't look like they have the crazy sized axle/crank thread! As soon as I saw them I was pretty sure I had seen them on your site, think I've looked at all the stuff on your site many times! 🤪

Regarding the pedals, Roly ( @Rod_Saetan ) has something similar for sale here: https://bicyclist.cc/product/shimano-deore-dyna-drive-pedals/ Very, very cool build. I'd expect nothing else from you Roy!

Fillet brazed frame build 'Lee Cooper'

Me too! I did x3 GCSE's in CDT: Technology (How stuff works - electronics and mechanics) Design & Realisation (How to design and make stuff) Graphical Communication (Technical drawing and illustration) and did Art & Design too. I lived in that block in school and got on well with the technician...

Fillet brazed frame build 'Lee Cooper'

In the early to mid 90s as a teen I did a lot of drillium and cuttium (made this word up to match! but trimmed down standard saddles to match the cut-away profile of a Flite). This was done at home and in the CDT department in school. The groupset that was experimented on was Deore DX. 💪👌

Fillet brazed frame build 'Lee Cooper'

Looking forward to another creative build from you @retrobikeguy . Do you have any set plans for this one? Regardless I’m sure it’ll be a beauty!

Fillet brazed frame build 'Lee Cooper'

I assume it will be an internal lug (like MBK's frames in the late 80s/early 90s). The internal lug will be brazed to the frame like a spigot and the wishbone slides over it and it soldered or brazed in place.

Their cables were crap vs. Shimano and yes, pre-cracked shifter bodies came as a standard feature! 🤪
