    Not sure you would…latex is very thin and distorts much more readily than butyl so would be maintained within the stronger carcass…

    Sometimes you’ve got to just accept that you’ll never know, and enjoy the bike. There were a lot of mismatches used in those days, they weren’t a throwaway society as we are now so they would use what they had. I have seen the same with Colnago, De Rosa etc, especially in the 70s.
