Yes, the price for fitting decals is one reason I didn’t use Mercian when I was looking to get a frameset restored. They are definitely on the expensive side in general. But this was before the new ownership, so they’ve not upped their prices.

As far as I recall from looking into it quite some years ago, that's not always the case, it's a bit less clear-cut than that. But you may be correct, this is only going on the sketchy information online.

This klunker-style build is something a bit different to the usual. It's a shame the saddle and shifter aren't quite in keeping with the look, but they definitely get bonus points for the wooden mudguards.
