For Sale Yet another price drop: Marco Rolls Titanio saddle (1993)

I'm sorry you took the necessary price reduction badly. Unfortunately, that's how the market is. I was (privately) interested. But the repair was putting me off. At some point, if price reductions continued, I may have been tempted. But it would have been for a nice summer bike and that...

Sorted large saddle bag (for use with a support rack, or with support included)

Another solution (albeit not retro) is to strap a 10litre dry bag to it transverse style. It will keep everything dry in bad weather

    Weinmann brake levers

Not really. For one, the OP's don't look to have cutouts in the lever body to let the cable escape onto the top of the bars, and secondly the ones in the video have black levers, the OP's look silver

Hit by 6.9 Earthquake but I’m Ok

Please tell me your sponsorship influence didn't force them to ride a single 60T chainwheel and a 12-18 block

    Weinmann brake levers

Back in the day before hidden cables were invented, it was a thing for some time trialers to force the cable through the housing of a standard lever and drill the bars to accommodate the cable. Braking would have been compromised, but as the bikes were solely used for flat TTs, it didn't matter...

    Best LBS in Britain

Yeah. I'd forgotten about the canyon shop. I did go in earlier this year for a mooch around. Let's just say I wasn't there long. And I didn't see any road bikes, just gravellers and MTBs. A Different Gear is good. They also build up used bikes to sell at reasonable prices. And then there's...

    Weinmann brake levers

I think to fit these levers, you're meant to drill the bars. A hole where the lever is to thread the cable into the bars and another hole near the stem for the cable to exit the bars (each side of course). Not something I'd be comfortable in doing or riding

    Best LBS in Britain

Bike shops are now moving towards how the motor industry is. Franchaised shops. So here in Sheffield we have a Giant/Liv shop, a Trek shop, Evans is essentially Pinnacle and Brompton. There's the Pinarello shop in Manchester. All are looking at selling spanky , new glitzy machinery. Plus...

For Sale Raleigh Randonneur Reynolds 708

It's been built up by a raw amateur bodger. Interesting way of mounting the front mudguard in front of the caliper. And the downtube cable stops are upside down. Someone with some spannering knowledge could turn it into a nice tourer though

    Screw on freewheel question

Further to Jim's post, I was always afraid I would strip the thread on the biggest cog when climbing a meaty hill. The thread is only as 'long' as the steel plate from which the cog has been stamped. And 42-21 on a steep hill takes a lot of torque. (bear with me on the layman's engineering speak)

Sorted QR spindle for Exage hub

Good to know. I've only ever had cheap nutted wheels 👍

Sorted QR spindle for Exage hub

QR hollow axles are usually a larger diameter than steel nutted axles, so his existing cones won't thread onto the hollow axles. A further consequence is that the fatter QR cones won't clear the existing bearing shields
