    Explosif 1992

That’s an impressive collection of Kona’s you have there. Reminds me of the sanctuary at @Spanky22b ’s!

1991 Kona Cinder Cone Suntour XC Project

Looking good. I’d replace the bulky seatpost QR with either a black bolt, or a purple one to match the stem.

1991 Kona Cinder Cone Suntour XC Project

I think it looks cool! I’m normally a stickler for a more original look, but that looks a blast to ride and the colour combo works well.

Square Taper BB recommendations mid 90’s

Stronlight cartridge bearing BB from Spa Cycles are good. I think the quality is higher than the Shimano square taper BB.

    1991 Kona Fire Mountain

Lovely looking bike. I agree with your rear derailleur choice. DX looks great - even more so with it being a short rear mech. The height of cool in the school bike shed competition!

    1991 Kona Explosif DX

very nice and that is a cool plan you have. These Prestige Explosif’s have a real zip in their ride characteristics.

    Retro bikes we've spotted

The poor thing. It deserves better cabling and headset treatment than that 😀

1991 Kona Cinder Cone Suntour XC Project

It’s a safety precaution - in case the brake cable fails it will stop the straddle cable hitting the tyre amd throwing you over the handlebars.

1989 Kona Explosif 16” $89 FB Salt Lake City

That’s interesting that it has a u-brake (like the 1989 model). Does this have a u-brake because it’s a small size frame? @Spanky22b

    1993 Condor Cadenza

A Salsa stem would be a good fit for this frame as the Condor has a tenuous link to Salsa… The Salsa a la Carte was built from Columbus Cromor OR tubing, same as your frame.

Foes 1995 for Greg H-Ball Herbold

Hi, I don’t know anything about the bike but it looks too small for Greg Herbold? He rode a large frame in the early 90’s (Koga Mayara).
