    Screwdriver Volt/Mains Tester

What are you actually trying to achieve or measure (apologies if I missed it). The socket tester linked is probably the safest and best things to use to check sockets. If you're not confident or competent, we don't want to see you fried. What is it you're trying to do.

What's going on with this derailleur-crank combo? They interfere

Twisted and high isn't a good combo. It's difficult to subjectively evaluate, but grab the cage and give it a wiggle to see how much play there is in the pivots. F/mech shifting can be a bit of a nightmare if there is slop in the system. It will all look "ok" and not rattly when the machine is...

Kona Frame Size From Photo Help?

Wow, I didn't even know there was a Wiki! I just quickly searched "XTR", and drilled to shifters > LH, and lo and behold there is a "how to" teardown guide. Great resource!

    Karma Spiked Winter tyres!

Probably wait until the weather properly turns and pop them on eBay. I am sure they'll do very well. One crash in the ice is enough to have people googling for spikes.

New to forum, know nothing about bikes, advice on 'barn find', well back of a dusty warehouse find to be accurate. Muddyfox chromo comp courier purple

Well done for finding it. With a little love, tlc, some lube and a service, it'll make someone a nice machine. Looking at the tyres, good quality and durable road tyres, I imagine someone has been using it as a commuter. Unfortunately, it was a lower end model from probably 25-years ago. New...

How do you carry spare disk brake pads?

^^ All of the above. I don't bother. They're cheap enough to just switch out before a tour. As other have said, one brake will get you home. I've never done it, but so too will (presumably), the pad backing material straight on the rotor. Even if you trash the rotor they're only ~£15 or so.

Is that a salvageable Yeti? Leigh on Sea / £25

Absolutely not yeti. Cable stops, dropouts, design, all wrong.

For Sale NOS Yeti 303 RDH frame

Apologies, that would be useful info. Looking at the 2010 catalogue (I *think* it's a 2010) here: I think it's a "Small". It's the 16.5" ST, so it defo isn't large. Orienting the frame as per the picture it really looks like the 22.5" TT, making it the small.

For Sale NOS Yeti 303 RDH frame

I've been having a bit of a sort out of stuff. I have a NOS Yeti 303 RDH that has been sitting for possibly 15-years doing nothing, and realistically I'm not going to get around to doing anything with it any time soon. Original RRP was around three-grand. Looking at clawing back £1000. Frame...

Ex Geoff Ringlé and Mert Lawwill Yeti Lawwill 4

Ahh, it seems I didn't include it in my parts series  So, one batch was made, with a much thicker wall than the standard Moby Easton EA70. There were about six or so. I think three turquoise and three black. Unfortunately my memory isn't so good now. They look cool, but were very fiddly...

    Yeti Pro FRO. Factory Clearcoat

The sun was shining today, so I thought I'd get a couple more pictures of the machine as she sits today. I think that the spec is unchanged from 11-years ago, aside from the practicalities of a rider; a Timbuk2 seat pack, and a Topeak Pocket Rocket. Oh, and a computer, or more the clock, so I...

Ex Geoff Ringlé and Mert Lawwill Yeti Lawwill 4

I haven't really used the machine much as I live in the South East. It's been to Cwm Carn for a hlaf-day uplift, and it's been used literally a couple of times in the area I used to live (essentially the Gorrick MBC Porridge Pot Hill). Three chainrings and a laypack post means it's actually ok...

Ex Geoff Ringlé and Mert Lawwill Yeti Lawwill 4

...are the two pictures of the bike from the show that Geoff showed me: Geoff sold me the machine as having a few "carpet miles" from the show. I *thought* that the machine was from the 1997 catalogue (which can be viewed here), but I actually think it's not. The catalogue bike has a...
