    Generic off-brand hubs

I'm sure when Shimano acquire and sell hubs, they don't just say to one of the manufacturers 'what you making at the moment? .... Ah those! ..... We'll have x000 of those and sticker them up as Shimano and sell at a massive premium. Meanwhile, we're ok with you continuing to sell them...

    Nostalgia Galore!

To be fair, back in the day, the plugs were more often than not stuck on top externally. Or at least they were up here. I guess the reason was that with benotto you could start taping on top and work downwards towards the end plugs which held the taping in place.

    Thick as Thieves

It's a piece of static artwork. Scrap this along with all the museum exhibits and save public monies then ?

    Thick as Thieves

Surprisingly, it's got a lot of people cycling and walking to see it and also talking about something positive for a change. Don't know who's funded it though - waterways or council? Arguably everything but food, welfare and health is a public waste of money. Not sure where one draws the line.

    Thick as Thieves

You need to see it close up But I usually make sure I'm parked next to something more desirable. If I'm doing an evening pub in town then I've either prearranged something where the bar manager will let me bring it in or I don't park it on bike stands but prefer a secluded corner behind a...

    Thick as Thieves

It's a tourist feature on the Tinsley Canal in Sheffield ( Quite close to the Meadowhall retail centre). It's a front and rear of a barge joined with a loop. Plywood would be my guess

    Thick as Thieves

White will look like you've nicked a ghost bike . Yellow will look like you've nicked a TdF celebration bike But, mine shown above is from tins of leftover paint - gloss and emulsion, applied with a lolly stick

    Thick as Thieves

Same reason car manufacturers aren't making cars more difficult to steal. For everyone that's stolen, they sell another new one...... paid for by everyone else's insurance premiums

    Thick as Thieves

To my mind, that still looks too good (and tempting) for a 'leave it in town' bike. Decent paint, nice wheels and tyres, matching pedals and grips etc Here's my effort

    Sakae Royale

Interesting if a little confusing. I've seen apex chainsets - some with a forged crank and silky anodising; and some with a pressed crank spider and less classy anodising

    ai and us

Yeh, back to my son and his AI prophesies (for what they're worth?), he did say that because of the capabilities and speed at which AI is progressing, he envisages very few people working as we know it within the next generation. He's mid 20s, works as a software engineer and doesn't see himself...

    Thick as Thieves

Probably more to do with getting intelligence for a shed breaking gang than looking for your bikes. Hell , maybe a prominent councillor lives in the vicinity and has pressured the local superintendent

    ai and us

My eldest works in IT and was trying to tell me about AI. Unfortunately for him, I'm not really into tech, so the conversation was a short one. But during that conversation, like most in here, I said that ai has no use. Fake news, a mock-up of an e-type merged with a cortina etc ..... all...
