Hi, Thanks you like my story on PROFLEXTHESIS. Yes you will see a number of my pic's on a couple of Proflexes fitted with discs. There was known actually made by Proflex or K2 themselves. All done privately with others equally obsessed.....

Also - I've noticed that Holburn Cycling (nothing to do with Alpine) further down the road (nextish to Gillies) has also closed and it is empty. Not many Bike shops left in Aberdeen (Halfords / Evans / Edinburgh) only??? A good job that there's still experts in Banchory and Ballater.....

Now you need a set of Girvin front forks to match it in full K2 4000 (Proflex) Spec... (and it was made 1999...)

Hi, Yes you can replace the old Elastomers with retrofit springs. It won't be cheap. Some of the 'newer' Proflex bikes can be replaced by standard Noleen 'spring' replacements with both front and rear versions. However I would recommend to replace with Risse Racing as these with fit virtually...

IceCzar, I think Noleen Racing (the original K2 Smart Shocks) still make complete and parts (try www.noleenj6.com). I've attached a copy of the Tech parts sheet which might help as well....

My old Mercian started with 70*** under the BB - and it was made and collected direct from Mercian in 1970.... Hope that helps - Thanks for your copy from your Uncle - a good bike in graet condition... K.

W, Thank you for the feedback. Most are now 25 - 30 years old and many are (very) well used. In the UK many I've followed have been over advertised, but I've seen well used actually sold at £80 / £120, the few in good at £180 - £250 and precious few at mint with low miles at £250 / £300. Thanks...
