Thanks Ferrus. I had vaguely wondered if I could make some from oak - I cut heaps for firewood! Might try local machine shop first though.

They are 118 bars. So very thin. I am thinking that metal inserts/plugs are needed but haven't seen anything "off the shelf" that looks suitable.

Anyone found/made suitable end plugs for attaching bar ends to thin-walled Ti bars? Looks like the original reinforcement plugs/BERTS were quite thick walled. http://pedaldamnit.blogspot.com/2006/09/titec-118-tale-of-2-berts.html
