As a bike, the Zaskar would probably get you £200-£250 but it has some nice parts which would sell for more if you split it down.

I suspect ‘old bike deflation’ is likely to have the opposite effect. Nice bike though.

Quite. A little mechanical sympathy goes a long way when dealing with 30+ year old bicycle parts.

They won’t crack if they are not used for the initial loading of the bearings. - use a different stem cap to load the bearings - tighten the steerer clamp on the stem - remove wrong stem cap and fit repro version

I couldn’t believe how much of a game changer a dropper post was. Rigid with a dropper post = rocket.

Slap some Zaskar decals on that Avalanche and it’s £150 all day long. Ker-ching.

Just to confirm, because I’m not sure if I’m missing something…. This is an Avalance (or something) frame, with Zaskar decals and you’re selling it for £175 as a ‘Zaskar replica’?

No need for anyone to beat around the bush with this one. All materials have a fatigue life. Lots of higher end retro kit was engineered to be as light as possible, not to last 30 years. Answer Hyperlites, Controltech, Pace RC130s and numerous others. Caveat Emptor. Most people have no...
