    6400 STIs & triple front - possible?

Re: Shimano 105SC (1055) made the 8 speed STI in a triple. I have a 105SC double and a triple and they are different.

    1993 Ritchey Road Logic

Re: I've got some ole Winning magazines that show Bobby Julich riding a Team Ritchey road bike in the red, white and blue colors. To me, it's the quintessential Team Ritchey color scheme.

1993 Greg Lemond Team Gan restoration finished with photos

Beautiful!! I'm really glad to see this restored as a Team Gan bike. I get a little bit sad when I see classic team livery repainted as something else.

    Recently aquired Basso Ascot

It looks like a sweet ride! So, what did you find out? Is it MS tubing? I forgot that one other feature of MS was asymmetrical chain stays.

    SB9443 Team Owned Raleigh 753 Dyna-Tech Castorama

Re: That is one possibility and actually makes a lot of sense. In 1990 all parties were likely aware Bagot would be racing for Castorama in 91 so they built the bike in 90 so as to have it ready for him by the next season. I would imagine that the various teams placed their frame orders during...

Shimano 1056 and Peugeot Aubisque Racer

I have a bunch of 1055 and 1056 parts. The differences I can see are: 1) As stated above 1055 is 7 speed and 1056 is 8 speed. But beyond that, the 1056 crank arms are slightly different - they are thicker and presumably stiffer; The 1056 bottom bracket uses a shorter spindle; the 1056 front...

    SB9443 Team Owned Raleigh 753 Dyna-Tech Castorama

Re: Below I pulled a photo from June 1990 Winning magazine showing Fignon on the Dynatech. It's tough to see in the photo but under the magnifying glass the outline of the large head tube lug is visible. He also ditched the downtube shifter covers. But your bike raises more questions than...

    SB9443 Team Owned Raleigh 753 Dyna-Tech Castorama

Re: Team Owned Raleigh 753 Dyna-Tech Castorama (Finished P7) It depends. Are you building a Castorama bike or a Systeme U bike? It looks like you're going for the 90 Castorama team look so the silver would be correct. Besides, the real Bagot bike probably had Dura Ace STI anyway.

Shimano 1056 and Peugeot Aubisque Racer

Re: 1055 and 1056 were also called 105SC for "Sport Cycling" group. The problem is that 1056 was available until 9 speed 105 (5500) was introduced around 1998 or 1999. So the bike could be anywhere from 92-98.

    SB9443 Team Owned Raleigh 753 Dyna-Tech Castorama

Re: I got it from the Jan./Feb. 1990 Winning Magazine There are other photos with Fignon in the background racing the Tour of Lombardy and I could see the faint outline of that large head tube lug. I would guess that he rode the Dynatech in the '89 Fall classics.

ONCE LOOK by pink glasses - no it's No. 060

Re: It's 7700 Dura Ace on those ONCE 96 Tour bikes. Shimano gave the new 9 speed groups to the teams in 1996 before releasing to the public in 1997.
