Thanks for the replies guys, I think you're right about the age of the bike, there's a code on the suntour rear mech dating it as 1977. I don't know why but I really love this bike :-)

I've recently acquired an old Dawes racer which I've resurrected and am thoroughly enjoying, but I've no idea what model or how old it is. If there is a frame number I can't find it (the bottom of the bottom bracket is too rusty, if it's there) Any help would be appreciated. Did a 30 mile road...
