    JENSEN ITALIA 1961.

...my auntie Val what bike she had whilst riding for Kingsgate Wheelers of Winchester (now VC Venta) back in the 60's. What to build next?

...50's are exquisite. The workmanship looks like it was a real labour of love. From frame builders such as Gillott, Hetchins, Bates, Ephgrave, Rotrax and so the list goes on. The geometry can take a bit of getting used to, the angles can be quite slack, though Bates were a bit more modern in...

    Rotrax identification and year please?

Re: It looks 1958 to me, when you get confirmation then... no bets? Rotrax sold mainly frames, many to retailers, so the original components are not really relevant. A typical decent spec would have had Campagnolo GS, possibly pedals, TA rings on 49D, Fiamme rims on Campagnolo GS hubs. Brakes...

If it's a 50's frame then it was 'updated' in the 80's with new components. Did Rotrax have 'models'?

Rotrax do use model names, from the 50s there's the Super Course, Concours, La Premiere and the Shirley. I don't think this is 50s though as yours appears to have a decal headbadge, they were metal through the 50s and 60s. If you can get the frame number and email it to Tim Maund at Rotrax he...

    Nesbits Auctions Ltd

...top. Also, be aware that if you're bidding online and can't collect, you're likely to get stung with delivery costs. I think Nesbits were quoting £99 to deliver a bike!! Even something like a couple of hubs was £24.95. So, the nice Rotrax they sold for £290, becomes £440 delivered. Bit of a...
