    1991 Specialized Hardrock Sport

Hi This is my wife's Hardrock Sport, purchased in 1991. OK, it's not exotic but it's a great little bike with a bulletproof frame. Small, 15"? or so (I can measure but you can tell from the pics). Frame is Specialized Direct Drive straight gauge CroMo. It originally came with Shimano 200GS...

Is it a......... Yes! Yes, it is!!! ;-)

Great stuff, iconic! The year was 1991; my girl (now wife) was at Brighton Poly staying in Eastbourne. I remember seeing the Karakoram Elite in a bike shop and wanting one. The stars and galaxies on a midnight-blue background just looked mindblowing. A lot of money at the time, though, so I...

    PACE ELASTOMERS

Hi I need some elastomers for my RC35s (atmosphere balanced model c. 1995 ish). Does anyone have any kicking about in a box in the garage? They're £45 from Pace, which I'd rather not spend... Pls text or PM! Thanks, Andy 07734 506418

I'm thinking about selling my Clockwork to fund something with modern geometry. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=336430 for pics. I'll either sell it as is (singlespeed with Project 2s); as a frame & forks; full bike plus Pace RC35s or any combination thereof. I'd rather sell as a job lot tbh as my next...

    Another Rourkie

I think the camera angle is exaggerating the drop of the bars...

Re: Re:  Cantilevers? My feeling is you can go a bit far with this retro lark. Great collection! There was a black 17" Clockwork on ebay this morning; I just checked and it went for £40. Good job I was busy at work around the time it ended!

    Orange Clockwork

Thx Yeah, it's great fun to ride with the wide bars and P2s, but I will probably put it back to a similar set up when I buy a new mountain bike next year. It'll probably be a 1x8 though, I can't be doing with front mechs!

Yeah, I used the RC35s for a while; then when I built it as a singlespeed I put the Project 2s on. I just posted an earlier pic on my original thread.

No, I agree they look more original! In terms of usability though they were hard work on technical trails, especially with flat, narrow orange-anodised bars... Priorities have shifted a bit since then, haven't they?! It was all XC racing then (or buying into the image...)!

    Orange Clockwork

The 19" frame always felt a bit on the large side for me tbh. Anyone have a 17" frame they'd like to swap?
