She’s pretty much done (for now) - Caroline Alexander’s Klein Pulse - Racing History, no less.

Just a thought - but I have a spare set of the Vector 2 logo decals for the stem (I got an set from Gil M for my Pro Flex 856 but it's on a newer fork without the stem) - I can see you're keeping the paint how it is, but if you'd like these posted to you gratis shoot me a pm...

    Show us your marins!

New project in the pipeline, to be built up with a mix of leftover bits and a modern 1x drivetrain. Lots of stripping/sanding/polishing to come on both frame and fork. Original stem and forks came with the frame - hanging onto those in case I want to go original in the future...

    Today's Ride

Thank you! Exceptionally comfy and now my go to for short errands / local trips with the kids now they're more confident (I used to have to take the Brompton as I had to stop every 5 seconds). Needs to be used for more rides like his...

    Kona AA - something different...

Nice but brief ride out on the Aylesbury arm of the Grand Union - only had a hour, next time I'll start earlier so I can get to Marsworth and have a pint. Towpath a mix of wide and flat near Aylesbury and significantly rougher bits as you get further out. Rare for the purple gravel machine to...

    89 Cinder Cone rescue (hopefully)

Quick update - off for white powdercoat soon. And fresh ceracote on the original (ie heavy) bars and stem. Will be getting replacement decals and then maybe have a go at my own splatter if I'm feeling brave...

    Today's Ride

Not strictly today - last week on holiday - but the first chance i have to post about it. Just back from a week in the south of the Netherlands, where we went to visit Efteling theme park (highly recommended). Hired bikes for the family one day and managed 40km on the brilliant network of bike...

    89 Cinder Cone rescue (hopefully)

Bad news to report here I'm afraid - starting at the back lulled me into a false sense of security / optimism... The rattle can paint was a lot thicker on the main triangle and another session has resulted in the unfortunate removal of plenty of the original paint along with the unwanted top...

    89 Cinder Cone rescue (hopefully)

So first bash at removing the top coat and pleased to report positive - if slow - progress... Careful use of acetone through a spray bottle results in it disrupting the surface enough for steady removal with a scraper and then some scrubbing. Although there are a decent amount of chips as you'd...

    89 Cinder Cone rescue (hopefully)

So the fam are out of town for a day and a half and a new bike is steathily smuggled into the garage... I have another day and a bit to reduce down to small enough bits so it can hide (for now) in amongst the other bits. It's a well disguised 1989 Cinder Cone with a few period upgrades (XT 735...
