If you do decide to go down the blasting route, and are going to paint your frame yourself, get the shop to apply primer (etch primer if its going on aluminium) so at least you have a coat on it before starting work. Blasted metal goes off VERY quick if left unchecked! Another test for powder...

All this Klunker talk reminds me of my Raleigh Striker with the back pedal brake in the 70's I had a perma-grin even when all the cool kids got BMX I was doing the same stuff on that, but waaaaaay better skids :)

Aye, the lugs and extra shizzle is going the journey. I'm going with a semi-fixie look so no cables, with a sturmey archer kick back 2 speed hub and back pedal (coaster) brake. Thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated :)
