    Binning it!

Post a photo! If there's any bolt projecting, you can mig a nut on the end of it, (inside the nut) and then unbolt it. Professionally, it's a write-off as any removal cost will exceed the value of the part.

Tyre life - what's wrong with this photo? ....

We do what we can And constantly improve. If you want tip top performance, your environmental credentials must suffer. I glue my shoes back together 2 or 3 times before moving them on, by which time the soles are pretty worn through. I admit, they don't look great by then, they might be...

Tyre life - what's wrong with this photo? ....

Knobbly tyres lose effectiveness with loss of the sharp edges, so often the tyre looks very knobbly but no longer performs anything like the new one. Many riders will fit new at this point, and the tyres don't really have a part-worn market. Mountain biking can be very environmentally...

    Specialized Stumpjumper.

It's well worth £100 if you want it. The rear mech, avid sds and fork take you way over that if you needed to recoup your cost. But older full sus doesn't have many admirers... hence the price.

The Ultimate Ranking Bible of Accessories Brands

It's an interesting idea, but there's a challenge: It's multi- dimensional That makes the order very subjective. Some premium brands are more nichey or cliquey than others. I won't flag them up here, as it always causes offence to the fans😉, but having worked on tens of thousands of...

    1886 Premier

Ride- wise, it's more than a lot like a bicycle. They are comparatively heavy, and slow cadence was normal. Very slow handling, pi55-poor brake. As a rule on early steel crescent Rims, the spokes are steel, straight pull, Threaded into the hub flange, head in the rim. The development of...

    1886 Premier

I'm currently making it rideable, but it will probably end in a museum. Imagine how fast you could ride on this in 1886 compared to your sporty mate on his silly old High Bicycle! The Aero TT piece of its day, but with better handling, comfort and braking to boot. The greatest leap forward...

In the chepstow town museum, they have a few exhibits from the local cycling club: Including a couple of photographs from around 1886 when a few of the local cyclists had bought themselves the latest thing...a safety! In this image they are at the beachley coffee house, near where the Aust...

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

QR Mtb and road hubs are the same fitting. Many top brands don't differentiate. As a rule mtb hubs are more substantial, stiffer, with better seals. Time to build yourself a road bike😉

Build a superlightweight radial front road wheel with it, aero cx-ray spokes. There are too many lateral forces with mtb, and that rim is way too beefy for a good match. You should be able to get a rim brake 700 rim for very little£ We've got loads old stock - every trad bike shop will be the...
