Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

Ha. Just received the same e-mail. eBay clearly losing out to other platforms so adjusting their rules again. It's a bit sh1t at the moment, if I sell something on a Sunday, post it on a Monday, it gets delivered by Wednesday, and I get the money on the Friday. Looks like I'd better pull all...

    Decent pair of cranks ruined

Let me first compare with my own collection of lonely Middleburn arms, but request noted:)

    Decent pair of cranks ruined

By the sounds of it the bike has been in road-only use for the last couple of decades so the opportunity for them to crank under extreme use has passed - now with just metal fatigue to add in to the mix!

    Decent pair of cranks ruined

Picked up a bike earlier this week mostly for the frame. Bonus in that it came with a set of Middleburn RS(7?) cranks attached, but unfortunately the last owner decided the best course of action to make them fit wasn’t to fit a longer BB or different set, but instead they needed to be...

Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

When you have sold something, and the buyer has paid, you'll be directed/instructed to 'Get postage label' or something like that. Hitting that button opens up a new window with the buyers name & address on (by now they have already been charged for postage - unless of course you are paying)...

    Karma Exploding Mountain Bikes VHS

I found this whilst clearing the loft, anybody want it for cost of postage? I don’t have a VHS player so it’s untested, but frankly it looks as good as new.

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

Not a part, but a tool in this case I believe. Dug these out of a box that has been in the loft since 1994/5. I think they are bearing drifts for 6903 bearings judging by the bag they were in, and they have a 9mm hole in them. Two different sizes. But for what hubs? Any in particular or a...

    How accurate are catalogs?

A couple of points to note here, catalogues tend to come out quite well in advance of the actual product hitting the market, and they are typically issued with a caveat that specifications are subject to change without notice. Here’s a couple of examples from my stable. 1992 Marin Indian Fire...

    87/88 John Slawta Yeti FRO

Looks great. I’d be tempted to ditch all the white stuff and replace them with black to allow the frame to pop a bit more.

    1991 Gt Zaskar

Not sure on your location/currency. Going rate for these seems to be in the £250-£400 range. Seems to be in decent condition on the whole. I'm looking for a set of those tyres, only ever see them on complete bikes

Wanted Shimano 732 733. Chainset, levers, front and rear mech

Technically speaking the XT thumbshifter only ran up to the '89 groupset, it was STI units after that. But you could still buy them for a few more years before they were properly phased out. Groupsets here: '89 https://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/d/15554-2/Shimano89.pdf '90...

Wanted Shimano 732 733. Chainset, levers, front and rear mech

Agreed looks to be a top pull set-up, but there might be a roller down towards the bottom of the seat tube to allow a bottom pull mech to be used. Over to the OP to enlighten us!
