SOLD Pending collection - 1980's Muddyfox Courier

Hi, up for grabs is my mid 80's Muddyfox Courier. I bought it about a year ago, refurbed it have been riding it for the last year. Original thread here - viewtopic.php?t=353367 on how it was when I picked it up. I rebuilt a lot of it, learnt a lot about cycle mechanics, but the gears have...

    My Muddyfox Courier

Oh I hope not :( It looks in fairly good condition to my untrained eye, but will have a play first to see if it improves. May just get it on my trainer so that I can add some load to the wheel in the workshop

Spoke too soon regarding the gears being nice. Been out for a ride up the hill and it is slipping all over the place when exerting force on the pedals. More work required me thinks.

Muddyfox Courier - need a new chain

Many thanks for the confirmation Xerxes, If I select the gear by accident (I am very unlikely to "need" small/small) then I would end up with a locked back wheel or a snapped chain/derailleur as it is at the minute, which would be a terrible shame when it's the sake of £6 to get it all in the...

Muddyfox Courier - need a new chain

Having taken the bike apart at the weekend - stripped off the horrible black stuff that seemed to pass for grease everywhere and rebuilt the rear hub with new bearings - I have found that now that the chain is freed up a cleaned properly it appears to be too long for the bike? When in both front...

    My Muddyfox Courier

New to the forum, but having read a few posts on here I appreciate the help deciding on the bike being right for me from various build threads etc. Wanted to get back to biking but didn't want to spend a fortune on a new ride, and this caught my eye! I know it's old and hasn't got the latest...
