Any Help identifying frame please? It looks very similar to a DDG but im pretty sure its not. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's not. :) you are right it's not a DDG shooter either. the nub behind the seat tube is an identify I'd be looking for, but I can't tell you what it is.

    Steerer tube extending without welding

they've tanked the economy, snuggled up to dictators, pissed off a rich T**T, whist acting like one, pardoned themselves of past felonies, incited hatred and push back DEI by 20 years across the "western world"? goodness me those forks have been busy, guess it's because they've got 2 legs in a...

Whyte PRST-1 - this is going to take a while...

the fork could be trued (it's already fucked, you can't make it any worse) with bit of mechanical effort and a jig. not an unusual activity to do on an aluminium frame. the drop outs are annoying but fixable. they look to be twisted by about 3 degrees, well within fixable (I'd be fine up to...

    Steerer tube extending without welding

Cool it slow. Managed the heat by stitching it and having a heat sink inside the tube. Still wouldn't do as you machinist suggests.

    Steerer tube extending without welding

Be fine if the steerer was under compression. It isn't. You are applying tension, pulling it apart. Add vibration and temperature changes. That's not staying together. Bad idea. Sorry. As to tigging it. You could do it, but it'll be a close run.

still got a Z5 in active service. never missed a beat, been in use pretty much the past 26 years with only the occasional service. think I've only replaced the seals twice. that tells me all I need to know about using Marzocchi forks really. :)

    Let's play cops and robbers....

see, our local constabulary had a bit more going for them. they rode Marins, put together by a local shop in white and black. they were alright bikes to be fair. the local bob shop has a museum under it these days, with some police history. there's a few bikes in there...
