    1996 Kona Hahanna

Quick bit of work on this. Swapped out the shifters/brake levers for a combo Deore DX pair, swapped the front brake for a better one and got rid of the adjustable stem. Probably will stay this way for a while as its the pub/commuter bike. Does need some pedals and maybe a different saddle.

Shop that trued my wheels mentioned they were worn but said it was OK. Will get a set of disc wheels at some point. :D

...since I'll be in mainland Europe most of the time anyway. I also caved and bought the Orange seatpost clamp since I had to tighten the sh*t out of the chinese 31.8 one so much and the bolt head stripped. Took it round some trails in Epping Forest the other day (without the racks) and it was...

    Wanted 29.6 seatpost

For a 98' Orange P7, black preffered. Figured it was worth posting here since more people see it. Currently using an Easton seatpost thats 27.2mm shimmed with a Cane Creek shim to 29.6.

    1998 Orange P7 Tourer/ATB

Messed with some stuff courtesy of @bikeworkshop . Swapped out the stem, tilted the bars back a bit, and moved my saddle to the middle of the rail since it was all the way to the front for some reason. Feels much better but still a bit too low. 35 degree stem should arrive Monday. So much more...

Indeed. It's my first time building a bike from the frame up!

...but every time I've made it worse and rounded the spoke nipples in the process so I'm not too keen on having a go with this. :D Seatpost clamp is f*cked. It's pretty easy to spin the seat in the seattube unless you clamp it ridiculously tight and I'm pretty sure the seattube slowly (but...

    1998 Orange P7 Tourer/ATB

Interesting. Well, I'll be able to rotate the bar forwards/backwards and cut the steerer tube to achieve that I hope. Don't think I can afford another stem! Unless I buy one of those cheap adjustable ones.

Wouldn't an 80mm stem drastically increase the reach though? And I get what you mean about the feel. I'm guessing through experience that is negated.

Just plucked the spokes, seems about in accordance with what you said. Straightneing the saddle helped a lot! Feels a lot more stable. I see people run the nose up on a lot of touring bikes, is that worth giving a go? My arms are about 4-6cm away from the bars. The bars I've got on the way...

    1998 Orange P7 Tourer/ATB

It only has play when it's not at its H/L stops. Makes sense. Something else I noticed was that my spokes seem "loose". They are all the same-ish tension and I did get the wheels trued. The spokes on my other bike are much much tighter though. Something that needs fixing? Photos:

Update(s) on this. I've put it all together and done all the cables. Ridden it to and from work about 4 times and I'm enjoying it. On my Kona I don't usually like to stand on the pedals, but on this I find myself standing on them much more! The saddle is really annoying me, wish I had the money...
