    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Yes bur since 2005 Campy is going down the drain

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Well Campagnolo has become a very arrogant company who makes very finicky products costing a fortune. If I had to buy a modern bike it would be with Dura Ace 9000 but with FSA carbon cranks and certainly not the bonded one that fails all the time. As for SRAM, I am not a fan of it but to each...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

That is very first time I am ever hearing this. I have raced back in the days in elite 3 category and at the time being people who used DA 7410 and DA 7700 dual pivot brakes never changed for brake calipers from Campy. Also the Dura Ace brake pads on Shimano were much better than the ones on...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Not really marketing , the STI and dual pivot brakes were innovation and it took a year later for Campy to catch with Ergopower and dual pivot brakes wich were pretty crappy. I have bb 7700 in my peugeot and never had a single issue with it despite many many miles on it. Had Dura Ace 7400 and...

The unexpected purchase, the Myata Gentlux

Indeed, the Full Pro Monocoque and the Full Pro Lux and the Road racer had this fork. Anyway this fork is heavy and make the bike frame weights over 3 kilos, so it will be changed by a full carbon one with a carbon steerer

The unexpected purchase, the Myata Gentlux

Well, no I have I will disagree with you, I have a Time Millenium carbon fork on my Peugeot Prestige made of Reynolds 708 Classic since 16 years it never snapped. It would be a different story with made in China carbon fork. I don't like dead weight on front when riding a road bike.

The unexpected purchase, the Myata Gentlux

Will very probably change the fork by a much lighter Reynolds Ouzo carbon fork since this one is quite heavy and will install a cane creek headset and a headset stem on it for reducing weight

The unexpected purchase, the Myata Gentlux

Good Afternoon One of my favorite German ebay sellers had a stunning deal at a killer price, so I jumped on it. I never had a japanese bike frame before and the 3 Rensho, Cherubim, Zunow, Kalawinka were way out of my price reach. I stumbled on this very nice pristine Myata Gents Lux frame that...

    Weight/stiffness of new steel bike

Interesting but here is what what Condor says about Reynolds 953, I quote : "We selected Columbus XCr tubing for our stainless steel frames because XCr is the highest grade of stainless tubing available. It is a seamless tube with an ultra-smooth surface. The tubes are cold drawn multiple times...

    Weight/stiffness of new steel bike

It was one of the most complicated to weld materials, Mobilette made one bike with that tubing called the Curve, one of the riders complained that the Front triangle wasn't as stiff as the rear. I have never seen in my life a frame with this tubing

    Weight/stiffness of new steel bike

Dedacciai DR Zero and Columbus Max, EL, Genius , Nemo and Foco are fine. I have an old Grandis Overmax a specific derivative of the Columbus Max which is very stiff but yet very comfy. On mine I have fitted 700*23 since the wheels I have on it don't allow much more than 700*23 or 700*25. Genius...
