Giant Trials Team (Martin Hawyes) bike

Still up for sale, have found a couple of old threads / eBay adverts where price of this is well over £100 so would like close to asking price. That being said I'm not going to use it so will consider offers

Giant Trials Team (Martin Hawyes) bike

Hi all, I've got my old street bike for sale - I had brought the frame second hand but never really got any use from it and it's been sat in the garage for years. I'm looking to sell the whole bike but would consider splitting - the frame is hopefully of interest and possibly also the PlanetX...

The one and only "HOW MUCH IS MY xyz WORTH" forum

Re: I've got a Giant Martin Hawyes trials bike; paintwork is pretty beat up and part's are'nt much to write home about except maybe the planetx kniffen forks. Any idea what it might be worth? Cheers

replacement mech hanger bolt for my Dawes Escape?

Re: No worries, I had one last search myself and in the end just got the capscrew of eBay. No big deal but it's just annoying that the hanger doesnt use a more standard thread form. Thanks for taking a look anyhow

replacement mech hanger bolt for my Dawes Escape?

Re: Thanks Rampage, will give you a shout in the week. I've got a backup solution lined up on eBay but ideally I'd like a button head type and about 15mm length (I think I'll need a fair few washers with the eBay link)

replacement mech hanger bolt for my Dawes Escape?

Re: Thanks for the response, good to see it written down somewhere that the thread pitch is 1mm. I have tried eBay and brought a m10 fine bolt but the pitch was 1.25mm and wouldnt fit. Aside from eBay I've contacted a couple of 'nuts & bolts'-type specialist suppliers but can't find an m10...

replacement mech hanger bolt for my Dawes Escape?

Hi, I've got a late 80's Dawes Escape that's been converted to single speed with a tensioner kit just like this one. Unfortunately the bolt that screws into the mech hanger is rounded so doesnt tighten up. I've tried searching for a replacement bolt but it seems to be a very fine thread - I...

EDIT: Bike now sold, thanks for interest Hello all, I've had this bike for a couple of years but since moving away from Bristol I've not used it and figured I'd pass this on. It's a Brian Rourke frame and sizes are: 27.2 seat post, 57cm c-c seat tube, 57cm c-c top tube, 100mm front drop out...

[For sale or swap] Jack Taylor super clubman(?)

I've had a little bit of interest but no takers so far. Was hoping to get back what I paid for it which was £30 but make me an offer - I'd like to pass this on. Cheers

[For sale or swap] Jack Taylor super clubman(?)

I posted up a while about a Jack Taylor frame I had got hold of in Coventry; The intention was to fix this up and use as a single speed but after a year tucked away I've realised that I won't get this back on the road, so I'm looking at passing this on here. As detailed in the post above it's...

Wheelset, brake callipers and cranks for fixie project

Hi all, I've recently brought a frame of eBay with the intention of building this up as my first fixie project. I'm trying to build this up relatively cheaply as I don't have any components lying around to put on the bike - I pretty much need to source everything. I've got a few small...

crank & bb advice for single speed bike

Thanks for the replies - by the sounds of it I should just try and get a pair of suitable cranks and then get a suitable bottom bracket. Is there a suitable BCD I should try and look out for if I'm to use the cranks for single speed? Additionally, I havnt got a set of wheels yet for the...

crank & bb advice for single speed bike

thanks for the reply, the pista range of cranks look great but they're out of my price range - my hope was to find a Campagnolo double chainset and change this to single speed which I believe is possible(?) If I do find some ISO cranks is it feasible to use longer bolts and washers to align...

crank & bb advice for single speed bike

Hi all, I recently brought a frame and forks of eBay with the hope of building this up as a fixed gear bike - this is my first time building a bike from scratch and I figured it would give me more of an understanding of chainlines etc. and try and get it looking just as I want. The frame...

Jack Taylor roadbike - worth saving?

Thanks for the responses, sounds like it is worth hanging onto, glad I decided to pick it up! I've uploaded a couple of extra pictures onto Flickr, hopefully they can be viewed: http://www.flickr.com/photos/79192793@N06/sets/72157629839380611/with/6941732910/ The bike is in Coventry at...

Jack Taylor roadbike - worth saving?

Hi all, I'm a first time poster here, my name is Dan and after lurking around on this site for a while, I wanted to post a couple of pictures of what I am hoping is going to be my first fixie project! (the topic of turning road bikes into fixed gear bikes appears to divide opinion on this site!)...
