Wanted Sub 1100g disc frame, 19 inch frame, pref carbon

There were definitely some porky years, but there were light versions. Someone had one on RB that was 1200, but i see now it was a 17.5. Disc only frames 19.5" from 2000 are on weightweenies as being around 1200.

Wanted Sub 1100g disc frame, 19 inch frame, pref carbon

I missed the part about a more modern frame being an option. There are plenty sub kilo modern frames to choose from.

Wanted Sub 1100g disc frame, 19 inch frame, pref carbon

I think the only 26" wheeled frame that is in your weight and size ballpark will be one of the Giant MCM frames. There were different versions but one was uber light. Aluminium choices are going to be around 1400-1500( like that Steinbach from a fee weeks ago) and steel will be around 1500 like...

1970s Team Raleigh the bike I wanted as a teenager

Mine was a Raleigh Ace in the early 80's. My cycling mate had a Europa and i wanted it alot. I ws pretty keen on another Raleigh with 531 , as an upgrade , but i picked up a 531 Carlton for cheaps. Dad picked up a proper 753 Raleigh which was dream material for boys back then.

    It Gravel Jim........89 Marin build

When i was TTing back in the 80's i dont remember chain drop being a thing at all. Certainly not with a 5-6 speed corn cob anyway. As cassettes have got wider and chain ALOT more flexible it is definitely a problem even on smooth-ish roads. I experimented with a non clutch Sram Force rear mech...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Cofidis use Campagnolo. At this years Giro the Cofidis bikes are sporting what appears to be the beginnings of a a future 13 speed Super Record . Might be a bit of a mix of the older 12 speed and some Ekar at present. Maybe different from bike to bike. The thumb shifter is back, too.

    Today's Ride

Lovely pics and one of my favourite bikes to see. Purposeful looking and always looks ridden and not just air-dropped in for a pic.

What are these worth? Brian rourke & Alan vintage bikes

Give the lugs a close inspection on the Alan. Cracks are not uncommon, sadly. The Alan will be the most sought after of the two, but the market is awash with quality bikes and frames that aren't moving so putting a price on stuff is super hard.

If ever a Klein was in need of a refurb...!

Blown away by the paint finish. It is a real skill to get brushed paint that good and this is right up there with some of the best classic car and steam loco brushed paint restoration work i have seen. Congratulations 👍👌😀

What Bike is This? - Max Glaskin & Jeremy Torr book - 1988

The derailleur is all kinds of deformed in the photo so hard to say. Identifying the shifters first, as they are pretty sharp, might help id the derailleur.
