    What Happened to Campagnolo?

It is a family owned business but until when. Are Tullio's heirs as passionate as he once was ? I don't think so. Since 15 years , they are struggling with sponsoring road bike pro teams and the reliability of their products can be very questionable some times worse with spare parts...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

The problem is that they played the niche brand since the 2000's but their products don't offer the same bang for the buck nor the same quality than Shimano or Sram do. Most of the highend bikes from big brands are either fitted with Dura Ace or Sram Red, exception made of the small artisanal...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

The problem with campy shifting is that is not as glass smooth as shimano plus , the campy braking systems even back in the days of the dual pivot brakes were not really efficient, I am not talking about campy wheels which were inferior to Dura Ace, Mavic Cosmic Carbone, Zipp, Hed, Boyd or even...

Another unexpected Daccordi gets added to my flock of road frames

...the bike knowing that it will have other wheels, the stronglight headset and the 3T mutant stem bringing rigidity and solidity to the headset. Frame weight 2.8 kilos for a 59.5cm (800grams columbus genius fork, 250grams headset and 1750grams frame) not bad at all. 700*25c fit properly in this...

Another unexpected Daccordi gets added to my flock of road frames

Today was the shopping day for the Daccordi with a new old stock Stronglight X14 Headset (I have one on my Vetta, it is one of the best headsets ever made) like on the Trek I decided to gift my Daccordi with 3T Mutant Quill Stem because it is forged and it combines the advantages of a quill stem...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Campagnolo was something significant in the 60's70's80's early90's but not anymore. Maybe bankruptcy is the way to go if they are not selling their fancy equipment to many high end bike brands. A lot of shifting and braking technologies were introduced by Shimano with Dura Ace and Dura Ace...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Fact is that Shimano is still the dominating brand on the road bike and mountain bike markets since the mid 80's . Campagnolo went to dominant once in the pro peloton to insignificant, and their market shares have become ridiculous. Let's not forget that Mollema had problem with SRAM, I don't...

new arrival, 1999 cannondale caad4 back up frame

I like US made Cannondales only, made in China or Taiwan Cannondales aren't of my interest and welds on them are ugly furthermore to that craftsmanship in the USA was far superior to the one in Asia.

new arrival, 1999 cannondale caad4 back up frame

Very nice Cannondale bike. 👌 👍 Mine will have the 3T Mutant Ahead set stem and 3T Mutant bar , a Cane Creek Headset, a FSA ISIS Carbon Crank, Mavic Cosmic Carbone SSC Wheels and will be full Dura Ace 7800. Thinking of a Flite evolution saddle on it.
