    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

Yeah it was a challenge. 😁 after that it's like nothing can stop me, even though this project throws another niggly problem my way every time I look at it... Managed a bit more today. I got the old inner races off the BB spindle, and cleaned it up a bit. One of the Viscount forumers...

1981 Nishiki Master - Randonneur build

Great transformation, looks both purposeful and nicely understated in a really balanced way. 👍

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

Took the frame into work to use the Big Vice™ My mission was successful. 😁 Had to chop the top off the stem, and then heat the steerer as @Guinessisgoodforyou suggested. Then grabbed the stem stub with our longest slip joint pliers and wound it out (think the angle cut at the bottom of...

Sorted Shimano 600 first gen crankset and/or SR Apex crankset

I'm not counting on my hunt for a DA crankarm bearing fruit very quickly, so does anyone have a 5-arm first gen Shimano 600 or SR Apex (with removable rings) going? Sorted!

The levers are a bit much for me, but I can imagine the rest looking quite striking on a subdued white or silver-grey frame.

Wanted DuraAce first gen nds crank

Long shot but I recently bought a first gen DuraAce crankset - lovely but the non drive arm is cracked at the square taper. Give me a shout if you have one in a box somewhere!

The Weird and Wonderful Bicycle Components Thread!

Thanks for posting these, fascinating. Amazing to see the colour lineup of pedals and shift levers, and to read how Dino was the mastermind behind all the design choices. Explains some of the more off the wall designs and the mixed up naming conventions!

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

A successful half hour in the garage now has the BB removed. I popped off the bearing seals, drilled/yanked out the ball retainers, then pushed all the balls to one side and tapped out the axle. Then I used my headset cup remover to tap out the outer races. The axle is soaking in...

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

Hopped in the car this morning and made an early visit to the Big One jumble down at Chalfont St Peter. As always an excellent selection of bikes and bits to be had, I didn't go too wild but got a few small parts for this project and a couple for another more modern machine (the pedals and...

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

I can only get the forks down so far before they foul on the sliding part of the movable jaw! I will try some combinations of rotating the whole frame around and holding different bits to see what works. The jaws are just magnetic urethane soft inserts with various pre formed cutouts. Very...
