I gave the Carlton some time today. I removed the chain, derailleurs, shifters and crankset in preparation for the VX upgrade and original cottered crankset refit. Yes, it’s purple at the front end and blue at the rear, separated with silver. I think the paint jobs are ace, very much of their time I suppose.

The Cadex was given a spin today. I was impressed with the ride, it’s stiff and responsive. The gears seemed to improve after a tweak on the adjuster on the down tube cable stop. I got used to trimming the derailleur’s which made a big difference too. I could have done without the 2 punctures on...

Another windy day but the visit to the Lee Valley Velopark was brilliant. My sister and I will be going back. Next time we will try not to coincide it with a West Ham home game. I will also try to avoid getting 2 punctures on the last leg on the way home.
