What do you think of Shimano ditching rim brakes in 105 and higher?

It's the Ultegra and Dura Ace 12sp Rim Brake Shifters! https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/ultegra-r8100/ST-R8150-R.html https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/dura-ace-r9200/ST-R9250-R.html A lot of the media communication was very unclear - it was all click-bait SHIMANO...

What do you think of Shimano ditching rim brakes in 105 and higher?

Not to be the guy that says *ackshualllyyyy*, but: *engage adenoids* ACTUALLY, Shimano still offer current Ultegra and Dura Ace 8100/9200 in rim brake versions. However, these are Di2 only, and you never see them specced on new stock bikes, as nobody really makes rim brake bikes in any quantity...

For Sale Specialized FIRST CARBON BICYCLE! 1988 Specialized Allez Epic.

Thanks for sharing this! It's fascinating to see how the way people talk about bikes has changed, and how the characteristics that people value has gradually changed over time. It's also a nice reminder of how much you actually get for your money these days - 5k gets you a damn good bike...

I'll keep searching for Chorus/Record for now, but I might just take you up on that if I don't get anywhere. Thanks for the reply!

Sorted Campagnolo Chorus/Record 10 Front Derailleur Braze On

Anyone got a Chorus or Record braze-on FD they would be willing to part with? Ideally used rather than NOS - it would be a shame to waste something pristine on a slightly rough-round-the-edges build.

Hi, I would be very interested in purchasing just the hubs and skewers, if you would consider splitting them?

For Sale Anyone need a folding bike? Tern Link D8 lightly used £250

My mate is selling his Tern Link D8. It's not had much use - he bought it to ride to the train station, then they put the fares up so much it was cheaper to just drive to work... Selling on Marketplace for £300, but I'll offer it here for £250 because I like you lot, and it means I don't have to...

For Sale FOR SALE 1986(ish) Swinnerton Track Bike unfinished project

1986ish Swinnerton track bike, built by Keith Coppell, Reynolds 531 Competition tubeset. 56 c-c, 56 c-t, 15 ht I bought this in 2020, spent far too much on some lovely shiny new components, raced it in 2021, then it has sat in the attic ever since. The frame has quite a few battle scars but is...

Flat Mount Paul Klampers - any good?

Anyone use 'em? I have a bike dilemma, and might need to do some swapsies with frames and groupsets. Got a Chorus rim brake groupset which could really do with being fitted to a disc frameset... Anyone tried the flat mount Klamper (particularly with Campag levers)? I've tried PM Klampers on an...

    Interesting

Articles like this really naff me off, as they fail to take into account the construction differences in different frames - it's down to how the individual bike is built, not what it is made of. Steel bikes can be horrendously impractical, uncomfortable, and flimsy just the same as carbon bikes...

    Integrated bars

You'll probably need to find a stem system from a brand who makes a compatible top cover for your frame. It might just be easier to buy the same again from Ribble, so you can use the same spacers etc. Otherwise, Acros and Deda both make headsets for internal cable routing that just let the...

Hi John, that's a shame, but never mind - unfortunately I don't have the space for another frame, even temporarily.

For Sale Vitus 979 57cm *SOLD*

I would be interested in buying the all of the components and wheels if you have anyone interested in the frame? Might be an easier sell, potentially? Or at least take up less space :-) PM me if you're interested.

Ekar hydraulic brake failure in sub zero temps

Did the brakes return to normal once they warmed up again? And were they particularly sharp before they failed?

Probably the best mountain bike name in the world...

I love how they completely gloss over this in the description... " I can't see the model, but it says Shimano on it" completely overlooking that it has M O U N T A I N A S S stamped all over it.
