For most bike stuff the smallest you need is 0.1 mm as seatposts are in .2mm jumps. Which is a doddle to read. 0.02mm is a bit harder to see, bit that's it.
I have a set of Mity' dial calipers on my desk right now. Probably the best compromise between cost and easiness to read. Just don't drop them and smash the glass...
