Parts That Weigh a Ton, But You Still Love 'em

Profile Racing 3-piece BMX cranks and bottom bracket alongside a steel Stout made riser bar and a pair of Brooklyn Machine Works Shinburger pedals. Yet they all fit the build perfectly.
Entered the thread to mention Marzocchi's and Novocaine covered that. Had forgotten about the Profiles...

Guilty on both fronts (the pedals also weigh several pounds, but always feel like home for some reason):

This stem is definitely heavier than the syncros it replaced, but oh so nice - custom Paul Brodie 1 1/8 ahead stem with a 31.8 bar.

Have a love/hate relationship with Marathons!!! 🤪
Been skidding on early 2000s rear Marathon tyre for the past 3+ years on the way to and from work and it has barely lost any thread.

I just don't know what to say about these tyres. Not comfy for sure, but no other all road tyre in 26 comes close enough.

Tough as old boots.
With the feel and style to match😉

Rohloff hub anyone?

I don't like them myself, and have found customers mostly move away from them after a year or two, back to derailleurs.

Still have mine with my Thorn MK2. I think if the frame is not made for them, it's hard to see the added benefits.

Still though, I wouldn't change mine for anything. It removes or worries with derailleurs and maintenance.
