Classic bikes, BBQ and old friends

Here in USA in the Pacific Northwest - Seattle and Portland have a reputation as being (relatively speaking) "bicycle friendly". Not sure exactly how that came to be - could be the mild weather, could be the people - who knows? For a good number of years there has been an annual gathering of classic bike enthusiasts held a few miles east of Seattle at the home of a gentleman involved in the industry for a long time. Bring your classic bikes, enjoy a social ride, have lunch and meet others with a similar interest.

This year was no exception. A good time was had by all.
here's the Flickr link of Bob's annual gathering from yesterday.

Next to last pic in the Flickr album is Bill Davidson (L) with Bob Freeman - I think it is safe to say that this year's 'display theme' was a tribute to Davidson bikes and many bikes built using Davidson lugsets.
Hurrah! and Roll On safely.

always enjoy reading the reports of this wonderful event

visited Bob in September of '01 and received a generous giro of his marvelous collection

this was back when he was yet on Bainbridge Island

after the tour he took us in one of his restored Volkswagens for a visit to Mr. Groman's Kingston Classic Cycles

what a wonderful day

we discovered we shared an interest in the products of Mr. Trev Jarvis; Bob showed me his bespoke example

thanks for posting! 👍
