By way of clarification, these were the last batch of Panaracer smoke received from Velo Store. I don't believe they are the same 'cheaper' items in the previous posts, they are, however, made in Thailand and not Japan and that would also account for the TH designation. I prefer these tyres to the modern reimagining of Smokes and Darts ( which I also have btw) which have the added word 'classic' next to the logo

Above were folding not wired btw. I have recently bought Smoke and dart 'classic' from Merlin Cycles in Lancashire at approximately £60 the pair and there is not a lot to choose between them and the velo store ones from Thailand to be honest, both very similar compound, side wall thickness and colour, only the logos are different IMHO
How much landed did the cheaper ones cost?
If they are folding , it seems strange they package them like a wired tyre (not folded)
If they cheap enough I’d have a pair on some of my cheaper builds as keep buying the others at £60 mounts up. I’ve 15 pairs now and need another 3.

IIRC 6 tyres + £20 FedEx comes to circa £95.
I guess like with all things, you gets what you pays for, these are undoubtedly cheap tyres in cheap packaging, compared to the gravel kings I just bought from Panaracer UK there is no comparison, to be expected at more than double the cost.

Hi folks, latest batch of Panaracer tyres from Velo Store, these are Thailand made and wired and were sent in a large 'wheelset' sized box , not twisted or folded. Quality is acceptable and as expected at this price point.
I prefer the sidewalk colour and logo style of these to the UK sourced 'smoke classic' that Merlin and Amazon sell here

So they aren’t folding then?
They look better than the ones Nathan @Bike Creatively got last year for sure. But not as nice to me as classics.

No not folding, wire bead, the last lot were squashed into a much smaller box so I reckon they were twisted and just survived the ordeal, this latest batch were packed in much bigger box and unmolested. They are aok for what I have planned for them

Do they not make a dart version?
I’ve got a few cheaper builds that I need tyres for but don’t want to double smoke
