Looks like John Aslin. Decent pro. His dad was a good mate of my dad, and John was dating my sister’s mate around that time.

That's him! My memory failed me completely. BTW, did he later have a timber business in Nottingham? I'm sure there was an Aslin company around at one time.
Is that Greg Lemond as a 16 year old? The Stars and Stripes jersey and the early helmet leads me to think it was a race in the USA.

I couldn’t say for definite. Aslin is actually quite a common name in parts of Nottingham. Sadly, John died relatively early at 59 years of age in 1999. I was for a while in contact with his sister but haven’t been in touch for a few years.
