Hi,
I'm on the look out for some 3 or 4 finger short pull flat bar levers for my laid back mountainbike commuter.
on the less pricy end (£15-£30?)
Any help much apreciated.
Thanks
How wonderful to get the history of the frame - thank you! I'll post up some more pitures - baring a bit of scuffing the paintwork in in god nic for its age. I noticed the pump fitting - what a nice detail - I'll have to get a pump to fit it. I plan on using the frame to tour with and I'm sure...
But I do apreciate the suggestions and questions.
I want to change the crankset asap because I have one of the recalled shimano ones and I'd rather feel more secure in it.
Thanks for the responses here.
I think I've muddied the conversation here by mentioning a possible future plan for 1x9 but the reason I'm going to do it bit by bit is because I want to try things and learn. learn how to do things, how things work together and what i like. I also dislike the...
Thanks - I think I followed that. SLX were like the lowest Dore group? I guess the name/quality relationship shifts around a bit?

Thanks
I'm currently slowly changing things piece by...

my 1995 Rockhopper is 3 x 7 speeds - shimano
Is a 1996 Deore LX SL-M569 (8-speeds) going to work better or worse than a modern Altus SL-M315 (might also get 8-speeds so I can...
This is all amazing info - I love this forum!

Also sounds like it may have warped or wabbled? but also might just be rough inside.
Am I right in thinking that as long as I can tighten...
Hi - I have what I understand to be a British made Proteus frame (photo below - maybe I'll post properly about the frame separately as I'd love to know more about it.) and I'd love some help around the seatpost diameter.
TLDR: It came with 27.2 which was hell to remove or put back greased
bought...
Thank you both. I like the shape of the bars. Nice that it has a little story behind it.
