Carrera Podium Columbus Genius 1993ish anyone?

Sorry guys I've just got my email address working again, after a glitch in November last year, & just discovered the email from RB today! Well, I just try to 'upload' a 475KB photo as an attachment... I tried the link from this RB thread above & it works for me...

Carrera Podium Columbus Genius 1993ish anyone?

Got this rare-ish frame/forks earlier this year & have built it up with Campag Veloce/Chorus components. Has a Columbus Genius frame which is quite light & impressive: ) Would have added an image, but I've given up after many fruitless attempts. First my pic was too big. Then, when I reduce...

    1981 Dave Marsh

Dave Marsh bikes are always cool IMHO. Look after it: ) I got a 1988ish DM TT bike which I treasure. Pics here on my website, http://bicyclz.com/dave-marsh/ because Photobucket is causing problems worldwide currently.

Be wary of Mavic and Modolo goods on offer from china

It's not about PPs commissions for me, but the connections & rights they have to your bank account when you sign up!! The dodgy ebay sellers are a minor issue in comparison. Caveat emptor as always.

Be wary of Mavic and Modolo goods on offer from china

Well, I appreciate what you say both, thanks for your warnings, but every transaction on ebay exchanges personal details. Do we use it or not? I'm not the biggest fan of ebay, but it has its advantages, being a virtual world wide monopoly. In my opinion Paypal is much more scary than ebay...

    Sid Mottram rebuild

Viscount here! @Bikey Andy. Haven't looked at the thread for ages. Sorry: ) I always keep good photographic records of all my bikes & if I have the SNs, whatever, I'll look & see what I have... I know a good bit of history about mine. I just looked & Serial No. 4791 on BB, repeated on...

Retromod 1955 Royal Enfield Superlight. Opinions wanted: )

Thanks for comments. Well I do like the Panaracers, but tyres are easily changed, & I could also modify the colour. It'll likely get a cotterless BB in order to use an alloy chain-wheel & a lighter saddle It's weighing in at 28lbs currently! I'm building it for a family member who wants a...

Retromod 1955 Royal Enfield Superlight. Opinions wanted: )

Just prepping my 1955 RE Superlight before it gets a repaint. Winter project & I'm looking for opinions/suggestions before I go ahead. Frame was originally a pale flamboyant green in roughish condition, but I painted it (rattlecan) black to see how it would look. Just built it up with...

Ebay Track Forks & underslung 50s stem

Couple of items I listed yesterday, which may be of interest here. The stem is a Noname, but came from an interesting early/mid fifties Rory O'Brien road bike. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122078042559? ... 1555.l2649 The Track forks are Italian built, with Campag Ends + Cinelli crown. Great, if...

    Royal Enfield Revelation

I think all RE m/c owners should have a Royal Enfield bicycle: ) Very nice Interceptor!

    Royal Enfield Revelation

Buy one & see: ) Seriously, they are not to be compared with your average 20" wheeler. Do not compare them with Raleigh 20s, Dawes Kingpins, etc. The Ebay Rev at Grantham is too far for me in Gloucester, but I'd be on its case if I were closer. They are rare as dentures in hens.... Forget the...

Re: Re: 27" tyres are a PITA when it comes to choices IMHO. I'm reverting to 700s soon for that reason. (+ more guard clearances) I was just experimenting with the possibilities above: ) A tourer needs more than smooth skinnies for practical use as a distance load carrier.

I'm quite happy DMs are not 'known'. Much cheaper to buy that way, for the cognoscenti; ) A bit like Viscounts with their "Death Fork Syndrome". Puts lots of people off, & keeps prices low when you buy.... Maybe we should have a dedicated Dave Marsh thread here on RB to showcase them a...
